Key Stage 4

At KS4, students follow the AQA GCSE course and continue to develop the skills learned at KS3.

At the end of Year 11, students take a speaking examination, for which they prepare over the course of Year 11, a written examination, a listening examination and a reading examination. Each examination constitutes 25% of the final GCSE grade. Students will be able to discuss a range of issues, including Travel and Tourism, Environmental Issues, Social Issues and the World of Work.

In KS4, students’ home learning is a combination of vocabulary learning, the use of GCSE Pod, SAM learning and other online platforms, as well as specific targeted examination practice. Students will have the opportunity to develop their languages-specific revision skills in class to support their revision at home.
