Successful Enrichment Opportunities - posted 18th May

Grisilda and Anisha (Year 12), have both been selected to take part in the Sutton trust USA Scheme. Both will be applying to American Universities in September and will be taken by the trust to visit some of the Ivy League universities (including Harvard) in the Summer holidays.

Year 12 trip to Newham College Cambridge
Recently, year 12 had a wonderful opportunity to visit Newnham College at Cambridge University. Along with its romantic French windows, high ceilings and magnificent grounds- it is certainly one of Cambridge’s most charming colleges. The college boasts notable alumni such as Clare Balding, Germaine Greer and Sylvia Plath- quite clearly; this was rather inspiring to our year 12 students.
After touring the grounds, students had the chance to see what life is like at Cambridge University as they were able to attend lectures on Criminology and Neuroscience. For the budding doctors and lawyers in the group, this proved motivational as it provided a helpful insight into ‘uni life’. Hopefully we will see students from Kingsmead at Cambridge in the future.

Drop Down Day - posted 24th Nov

Kingsmead students experienced their first ever 'Drop Down Day' yesterday and the feedback is that they had a great experience both inside and outside of school. Activities included a BLP workshop with problem solving, Yoga and Kick Boxing, a Computer Science Workshop and we welcomed some Kingsmead Alumni who gave a talk to students in Years 12 & 13.
